Contemplative sketches
"Paper is easily processable (folding, cutting, glueing), which makes it a suitable material for sketching. Yet, the folding, cutting and glueing of paper in this scale (= quantity), this repetition of routines, results in a meditative tendency.
By repeating the routine, which ultimately results in a fysical sculpture, I would like to transmit this meditative mode.
Absence of material defines its shape. What is actually there makes absence present. Besides the removing of material, is it the creation of the space in-between, the enclosure of air and light, that makes the light able to paint."
