Four stages of a breaking wave, which I associate with surrender. We are part of something bigger, but we do not know what it is.

Field3, as you walk arround it. Water is the symbol of emotion, it has no form of itself, and is constantly in a process of change. So Breakers is a 3-dimensional painting that constantly looks different. This happens when you walk around a field, but also within the field there are many moments, depending on your position as a spectator and the angle at wich you're looking into it

During the Art Manifestation 2002 in the Janskerk in Utrecht, The Netherlands, is 'Breakers' exhibited for the first time. Later I have adepted both fields 1 and 2, and completely renewed field 4. This first field 4, which is more colourful (image 3 and 4), will later be replaced by a more moderate version, which is more a unity with the other 3 fields.
